Summer Fun!

We seem to have something new to do every day this summer. We went and feed the ducks and were lucky enough to find some brand new baby ducklings. Tyler was having so much fun until some of the insidious geese came along and were so aggressive that they actually swarmed the stroller and one them bit Tyler as he was trying to throw them bread.

Tyler was so taken with the hole in this tree and trying to guess what my live in it. We finally decided it must be home to a woodpecker because it didn't look big enough for anything else.

Tyler has developed a fear of storms, specifically thunder. He keeps telling me, "Mommy, thunder freaks me out." We have had a lot of storms rolling through the last few weeks. This storm hit last night just as Tyler was trying to fall asleep and as you can see from these photos it was a doozy.

Our local library had storytime with Clifford today. I could not believe that Mia let Clifford hold her. Tyler was so excited but when it actually came time to sit next to Clifford he was a little more cautious than his sister.
Pillow mountains are my most valuable tool when I am trying to clean the house. It keeps them occupied for at least a half an hour which is like an eternity around this house.

I weaned Mia onto a bottle this week. It was bittersweet for me. I was losing my milk so instead of going to extraordinary means to keep breastfeeding for another couple of months, it seemed like the best option. She has always loved bottles so it made no difference to her but it was sad to see that chapter closing. She is getting to that fun age where she learns something new each day. Today when I was giving her a hot muffin, I said, "It's hot!" and she started blowing on it like I always do with her food. She is growing up too fast!!
