January 23 - 25

On Wednesday morning, Tyler woke up and decided he didn't feel like wearing a diaper. I was like, "ok but you have to go on the potty if you aren't going to wear a diaper." And that was that. Tyler has been going on the potty for three straight days - no accidents, no bribing, no bargaining. I really don't know why and I don't know if it is going to stick but he just decided it was time. He tells me when he has to go and we hurry to the potty. He is so proud of himself. On Wednesday we had a potty party for him when daddy got home and called everyone so he could report on his success. In case you are wondering, a potty party consisted of a fresh-baked chocolate chip cookie, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and two candles that were blown out twice. I have read that this is the biggest milestone a child will accomplish and everyday I am just waiting to see if this is going to be the day he is going to say he wants to go back to his diaper but so far he is willing. We left the house for the first time today and he made it through with no accidents so we may actually venture out this afternoon to get underwear. I wasn't planning to do this this week so I have no big boy underwear so right now he is going "commando".

Mia is also going to hit one of her milestones any day now - CRAWLING!! This crazy strong baby can actually support all of her weight on her front arms. She is going to be a gymnast or something. She will put all her weight on her arms and hold her one leg completely off the ground. She seriously looks like she is about to do a somersault. She is also able to walk across the room if you hold her hands. She just takes little steps and will then stand up holding onto to the couch. She is not even six months yet. It's so odd to me but like the potty training I really have no say in the matter.

That is EXACTLY how that happened with Haley...one Morning "Mommy I don't want to wear diapers"...and that was that. She never reverted back, but maybe after a month she had an accident here and there and sometimes she'll get a TINY bit of peepee in her underpants and then rush to the potty. She even decided one day that she no longer wanted to wear pull-ups at nap...and that went much the same. Only one accident since then. We are down to pull-ups just at night time. 7 months diaperless and going strong!
As for Gavin and crawling...I don't know if it's because he's so big (he's gotten big...everyone says he's a bruiser) or if it's that he's so laid back, but I don't see any signs of crawling just yet. GO MIA!
