Our butterflies hatched (not sure if that is the correct term) much to the excitement of Tyler - and the cats! I didn't know how crazy this would make the cats so we could only keep the butterflies for 2 days before we had to set them free or I think they would have perished from fear. If you have a three-year old, I highly recommend this project. We are getting more caterpillars in a few days to do it all again. Tyler has been so interested in watching and taking care of the caterpillars and butterflies. Every morning, he would run downstairs to see how they were faring and what they were doing. Very fun and low-maintenance pets.
